City-Wide Community Watch Program

The Groves Police Department would like the opportunity to proactively partner with every resident in an effort to ensure that Groves remains a safe place to live, work, and grow. The program encourages all residents to become the "Eyes and Ears" of this community and assist the police department in our crime prevention efforts.

The Groves City-Wide Community Watch Program was reestablished in 2002 for the purpose of opening the channels of communications between the police department and the community. The police department has been hosting monthly meetings ever since. The meetings were initially held at the Groves Senior Citizen Center and later relocated to the Groves Activity Center.

The meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month with a different guest speaker. At the end of each meeting, residents are encouraged to ask questions and discuss neighborhood concerns in an open forum. During each meeting, citizens are provided with monthly crime reports and other timely information of interest.

All residents are notified monthly though our BLACKBOARD CONNECT community notification service as a reminder.
