The City of Groves Water Plant will be changing from Chloramines to Free Chlorine in the month of June 2020. This is a process that is done once a year in the summer time. It is an approved method by TCEQ to clean water pipes and provide a reliable disinfectant residual throughout all points in the distribution system.  The water will have a slight chlorine smell to it. This is normal when switching to Free Chlorine. We want to reassure the public that the water is safe to use for consumption and daily activities. Customers may notice increased flushing throughout the water distribution system during this time period, and possibly after the free chlorine switch.
Arrangements have been made for Groves businesses to participate at no cost on  Beaumont Enterprise advertisement promotion.  This will let the public know that your Groves business is open for business.  Please contact Edna McZeal at  713-501-2833 or email emczeal@hearstnp.com

This will place your business on a full page ad in the paper as well as digital for 9 separate runs.

Groves, Texas is the third largest city in Jefferson County. In the words of our city manager, D.E. Sosa---Groves is "a great place to live, work, learn, shop and conduct business." This warm, friendly, well-kept community of 17,000 is nestled between Port Arthur and Port Neches in the heart of Jefferson County.

Groves had its beginning in when Asa E. Groves looked longingly at the wide expanse of land east of Griffin Nursery. He formed a company and purchased 300 acres in the center of present day Groves.

Family entertainment is provided each year with the Texas Pecan Festival, which commemorates the planting of hundreds of pecan trees ordered by Asa Groves and planted by Wiley Choate, a foreman at Griffin Nursery. Many of these trees are still standing, making the city one of the loveliest in the area.
